Pohlait’s Design House was founded in 2018 by Paulette, who started to pursue her passion for designing after retiring from a 25-year teaching career. Paulette studied fashion merchandising, retailing, designing, and marketing in the 1980s. She studied at the Miami International Fine Arts School, Miami-Dade Community College, and Florida International University. 

Paulette delights in artistic displays of all forms.  It is one reason she started modeling right after high school for Rita of Hollywood.  There she had the opportunity also to do some international commercials and to act. Paulette even had a non-speaking role in the first pilot of the Miami Vice TV series.  

However, in 1988, she decided to put these skills on hold to pursue a teaching degree to obtain a steady income to care for her family. From 1995 on, Paulette became a divorced mother of three biological children and over 750 classroom ones.  Nevertheless, this full work and life load did not deter her from learning, designing, and creating. In 1998, Paulette acquired a master’s degree in science education from Florida State University, where she taught students in Miami-Dade and then Houston how to learn science hands-on creatively. 

Paulette’s life journey is becoming a full circle, being happily married and designing again.  Pohlait’s Design House is the love-child of Paulette’s work ethic, creativity, and dedication to detail. It is quickly developing into a reliable online retailer for authentic artful fashion that customers rave.
